Devoted Health Continues to Excel in Quality and Performance in Medicare Advantage Star Ratings

Nearly 88 percent of Devoted members in rated plans are enrolled in 4-Star plans or higher; comes as CMS raises standards for high performance

[WALTHAM, MA, November 12, 2024] —  Devoted Health, an all-in-one healthcare company for Medicare beneficiaries, continues to receive high marks for clinical and service quality performance across plans eligible for the 2025 CMS Medicare Advantage Star Ratings, and did so during a time of broad market expansion to 20 states and a year in which CMS raised its standards for high performance.

This year, 10 new Devoted contracts were eligible for Stars evaluation, in addition to the five contracts rated last year. With a 2025 weighted average of 4.3 Stars across these 15 contracts, Devoted performs above the national average of 3.9.* In addition, among the new Stars-rated contracts, 50 percent of them received a 4+ Star score.** Historically, only 12 percent of new contracts receive a rating of 4 Stars or higher in their first year of eligibility.***

“Over the course of this year, our family of Devoted members has doubled, the number of our Star-eligible contracts has tripled, and CMS has raised its bar for high performance,” said Ed Park, CEO and Co-Founder of Devoted Health. ”Yet the Devoted team did not waver in delivering the compassionate, high-quality care we would want for our own families. It shows that this mission is not just theoretical -  it’s something that we accomplish each and every day.”

Based on information received from providers, health plans, and member satisfaction surveys, the CMS Star Rating recognizes excellence in MA plan quality and performance. All contracts that were rated for 2024 continue to perform at or above 4 Stars for 2025 and demonstrate sustained, strong performance.

These ratings also reflect the company’s excellent performance across clinical measures. 100 percent of members in Star-eligible plans are in a plan rated 4 Stars or higher on the measures of Controlling Blood Pressure, Medication Adherence for Statins, and Medication Adherence for Hypertension. Additionally, 96 percent of members in Star-rated plans are in a plan rated 4 or more Stars on the Blood Sugar Control measure for Diabetes Care.

Devoted also continues to receive high marks for member satisfaction and experience. Among all Star-eligible Devoted plans, 98 percent of members are in a plan rated 4+ stars on the Health Plan Rating measure, with 70.6% of members are in a plan rated 5 stars. Similarly, across eligible plans, 95 percent of members are in a plan rated 4+ stars on the Customer Service measure — and 89.8% of members are in a plan rated 5 stars.

“Even as CMS has raised its standards for excellence, this year’s Star Ratings highlight the tireless work of our team at Devoted to provide the quality of care that makes a difference in members’ lives,” said Dr. Neil Wagle, the Chief Medical Officer of Devoted Health. “We understand that our members deserve an experience that is rooted in clinical rigor, and every day our team ensures that this experience translates to the highest caliber of outcomes.”

Founded by brothers Todd and Ed Park in 2017, Devoted provides all-in-one care for older Americans, offering members benefits they actually need and will use and delivering access to high-quality medical care and a world-class service experience. This experience includes comprehensive, tech-enabled preventive care services from Devoted MedicalTM — the first virtual-first and in-home medical group designed specifically to serve the unique needs of the Medicare population — as well as support from Devoted’s full-service Guides who help each member navigate their health journey.

This year’s Star Ratings announcement continues a year of recognition for Devoted’s leadership in quality, service, and innovation. In October, Devoted was named to U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Insurance Company for Medicare Advantage in 2025” list, following earlier validation in April from Fast Company as one of its most innovative companies in 2024, as well as from Forbes as a best startup employer.
