Managing Your Blood Pressure
Maintaining a healthy blood pressure is one of the best things you can do for your body. A healthy blood pressure can lower your chances of a heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease.
We know it can be hard to keep your blood pressure in check, especially if you’re currently on blood pressure medication. But, that’s where our Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) Clinic comes in.
How does it work?
It’s simple — and there's no cost to you. We’ll mail you a blood pressure cuff if you need one. Then you and your PCP will work with a Devoted Medical clinician to track your blood pressure. This will help us see if your blood pressure medication is working for you. If you need any changes, we’ll work with your doctor to make that happen.
How do I know if I qualify?
You can sign up if you’ve had either of these:
- Diagnosis of hypertension (high blood pressure)
- A history of high blood pressure (greater than 140/90)
Do I have to take part in the program?
No, you don’t. We reserve spots in the program for anyone who qualifies. But it's your choice to take part or not. And whether you do or don’t, it won’t affect your coverage.
Prefer to track your blood pressure on your own? You may be able to use your over-the-counter (OTC) benefit to buy a blood pressure cuff. Check your OTC catalog to learn more.
